Sunday morning on the island. Life is never boring here. The sky, the wind, the sea, the birds. I wanted to throw stones on the water, but didn't want to disture the ducks.

Colors before winter
Autumn is knocking on my door, peeking through my windows. A deep, warm color palette fills my island. But still there are signs of summer which hesitate to leave.
I don't know the name of this flower, which opens only when the sun shine on her. It is so beautiful, I think I will take some of her color and keep it in my heart through the long, dark winter.

Flying south
I couldn't stop looking up into the sky while I was out walking today. The migrant birds are busy, gathering in groups, first small, then growing. They make a lot of noise, I am sure they are looking forward to their long flight, and most of all to reach their goal.
My days of migrating south during winter are gone.
Now I live with the seasons here on my small island. I am where I am supposed to be. I thank God for every day. Rain or shine. Spring, summer, autumn, winter.

Art in my life
Through a long life I have collected artbooks. I live in Norway now, on a small island, but for years I used to live in France. Galleries, exhibitions, museums, concerts, libraries, bookstores were part of my weekly routine.
Not so anymore. These days my small cottage is my daily, weekly, monthly, yearly routine. I enjoy art through my huge collection of books, but most of all I love art in nature.

A tiny bluebell
The Norwegian bluebells (blåklokke/campanula rotundifolia) belongs to summer. There are many of them near my little house. During the summer months I always have a bouquet on my desk. For inspiration and beauty.
Most of the bluebells are gone now, but on my walk this morning I found this tiny one. I didn't have the heart to pick it, but I bent down and we had a little talk, the bluebell and I.
